Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose a contractor?

If you ask each contractor the same questions, you’ll be able to do a side-by-side comparison. That should give you all the information you need to choose the right contractor. Request our workbook for help!

Can I use my own subcontractor?

We hold everyone we partner with to the same standard as we hold ourselves while managing them on the project.  We guarantee their work as well as our own. If a client wants to bring someone new to the team, we won’t be able to guarantee that their work is up to our standards and your expectations.

What is a Work Scope Agreement (WSA)?

A WSA is an accurate, clear scope of work. It shows what is included, what is not included, as well as a selection of materials and finishes based on your preferences and budget.

Do I need a WSA?

Yes. A work scope agreement makes any project run smoother. Starting off your project with full disclosure of your expectations eliminates any uncertainty or stress.

Do I need to hire an architect?

While we have worked with many architects in the past, you do not need to hire an architect before working with us. We can work you through the design and build process to make sure you are getting what you want.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We are fully insured and licensed. We also guarantee that all of our trade partners are as well.

What is your service area?

Our primary service area is approximately a 25-mile radius of Millbrook, New York. This includes the Hudson Valley, Sharon, Kent,, lower Columbia County and Litchfield County in Connecticut.

How soon can you start my project?

*Currently we are booked until summer 2022* Once the details are agreed to and the Work Scope Agreement is signed we can begin working on your project. This will ensure we both understand your expectations and agree to the details of your project.
